All Stars

Activities and Adventures in All Stars

All Stars is a great place to be before and after school and in the school holidays, we meet up with friends and take part in lots of fun activities.

During before school club we are able to help ourselves to some healthy breakfast. We can choose from fruit, cereal, yogurts, toast, bagels, crumpets and croissants. Yummy.

After we have had breakfast we can choose some games to play with or play outside until it is time for school. We are then taken to our schools by our All Stars carer's; we have to wear special fluorescent jackets so we can be seen and these help to keep us safe.

After school
We are picked up from our classrooms by our All Stars carers and we walk back to Twinkles.
Once we are back we can have a quick snack of fresh fruit and a drink of water or milk (Fresh fruit and water is available to us all the time) and we have quiet time so we can do our homework.

Once quiet time is over
We have our tea, we all take it in turns to serve ourselves, we often get asked in our half term newsletter if there are any changes we would like to make to the menu or add any new meals.

After tea
We are able to choose an activity to do, whether this is a planned one or something we choose to do ourselves. We get to play outside too, outside activities include rounders, tennis, football, parachute games, treasure hunts, obstacle courses and we also get to bring our bikes or scooters to play with on special days during the school holidays.

When it is the holidays
We can come to All Stars and take part in lots of activities and go on some fantastic trips out.
Some of our favourite trips have included:

  • Going to the fish and chip shop for lunch and then to the cinema to watch the latest film.
  • Bowling at the Harrogate bowling alley (we enjoy the bus journey the most)
  • Valley Gardens in Harrogate, we enjoy playing with the parachute here, our favourite game is the Washing Machine game.
  • A visit to Knaresborough Castle when we were doing lots of activities around castles.

We have also had lots of people visit us

  • Basketball coach- he taught us how to dribble the ball and score a goal.
  • Football coach for Leeds United who taught us lots of football skills.
  • A lady from Pots To Go came in and taught us some pottery skills
  • We have had a bouncy castle party
  • A magician came and taught us some magic trips.

We are very lucky at All Stars, our carers try and plan an exciting trip out each holiday, on all the other days we have lots of planned activities to do around lots of different themes. Some of our favourites are:-
  • Creative week – we did lots of painting, modelling and clay work
  • Spooky Week – we made witches hats and spider jelly
  • Sports Week – we could bring our bikes with us.
  • Seaside Week – we played with sand and had water fights!
  • Fairytale week – We wrote our own stories, directed our own plays and had a teddy bears picnic.
